Oh Moxie, I love Moxie and now I know the benefits, well,,, probably not from Moxie since it has sugar and all. I wish there were more drinks with this root in it, I find it to be so delicious.

Healing work

in Mikham's Blog

Please excuse my ignorance but with the utmost respect why are you writing about God & Angels & why do you use them? Surely this is a Christian belief and nothing to do with Traditional Witchcraft? I'm very new here & please don't take offence by what I've said.

No offense.

You are almost right. God, angels and spirits I work with are mainly identified as the Christian ones. I have to say that I received the first rudiments of the traditional Italian craft from my grandmother who was used to receive people complaining mostly from lesser curses affecting their health. She delivered them with a special blessing administered during a ritual whose prayers are given in the family through generations.

Italian witchcraft, as practiced in my region, is a system that has roots in Etruscan religion. Once Christianity arrived, the systems was adapted to the new religion and this was perfectly normal until "the religion" became all of rules and dogmas as we know it nowadays.

I, together with my grandma and few other members of my family, have been raised as Christian and, simultaneously, I have been taught how to serve the home altar, a restful place for spirits and ancestors, a place where to call them and be guided in order to perform spiritual work.

I could never fit in a wiccan forum and I guess that "traditional witchcraft" could have as many meanings as the number of profiles here. I can imagine that this forum doesn't deal with this system I received but surely no one can say that it is not "traditional" since it has been practiced for ages and it is still practices, although mostly by few, old ladies.

Healing work

in Mikham's Blog

Hi Steve,

I appreciate your comment, it is really interesting to know how you work on healing.

My work may look quite different but we go through the same steps. I first set up a connection with the person by praying together even if privately, in front of an altar offering. I ask the person to be open to God, angels and spirits to transform his or her life. After that we spit the work. I give to every person a different assignment or task to fulfill in order to have them focused on welcoming spiritual forces to work on their life. I work with God and His spirits, with prayers, offerings, meditation.

I always explain people who come to me that as the physician will heals the body, we also have to prepare the the soul to be healed and when the two are in harmony, they both speed up the whole process. Moreover, I do not tell them how the process will work, because it can be different for different people and I do not want them to expect any special effect to come out my magic wand.

If you and your coven is fine with that, you can send me a version of your pentacle and I will put it on my altar, to send you even more positive energy.

Healing work

in Mikham's Blog
Hi Mikham, I have practiced Healing for many years and I personally think that Healers are guided to do what is right. Whenever I Heal I ask the Spirits for help and allow them to work in whichever way they want. I very seldom ever touch a person, my hands are always a good 3-4 inches away from them. I always start with a scan of an area because sometimes I work well away from the pain or to be healed area. I always tell them before I start that if they feel any sensations at all they are to tell me because this can be a guide for a Healer. However, I never "auto suggest" anything i.e. I never say "can you feel tingling in your legs" because as sure as heck they will feel that because you've told them. At present I am working with a young Lady who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have a mission to inform people that hugging is a wonderful natural healer but not just grabbing someone, I have different hugs for different reasons. For this young Lady I went into a healing hug with her which meant that she was holding onto me and whilst she was in my arms my hands were on her shoulder blades. We stood like that for 2-3 minutes until I could co-ordinate our breathing so that very soon we became one person. I then did what I could to work on the tumour. she did feel great when we finished and felt a lot more positive about her future. I also spell cast into a special stone she had. She now cups it in her hand and breathes in a pure light from the stone, turns her head, and blows out black smoke. Her body has to do the work. One thing that might sound strange to some is whilst in the hug I wore my cloak which has a large Pentacle on the back with mine and my Wife's initial in. I informed my coven that I would be doing this at a specific time and asked them at this time to concentrate on my pentacle to give me the energy I needed. This definitely works for me but won't work for everyone. My greatest achievement was a lady who was desperate for a baby but couldn't have one for various reasons. She came to me and 1 year later (not 9 months) she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Did I do anything? probably not but she was able to allow her body to do what it should do. I hope this doesn't seem too weird to you but this is genuinely how it works for me.

Foggy, jumbled mind...

in Elaenior's Blog

That's the worst feeling, isn't it? I get like that, quite often. I usually find a good, spiritually cleansing bath helps to start the recovery process :)

Going within (meditation)

in Nemesisuk's Blog

Sitting in silence in front of a candle, with some icense burning in the back ground. I clear my mind of the issues of my life and concentrate on the flame (not directly but just above it) and then feel the warmth of the light envelope me and the room, and I have thoughts of recharging and of confidence.

I do this for about 5-10 mins when time and peace allows!

What type of meditation? Is it a recorded guided meditation or just siting in silence and quieting the mind? I have been getting very into meditation lately, about 3-5 times per day! I enjoy the guided meditations on YouTube!

Some random notes

in CailinRua's Blog

Hello IslandBruja! I just saw this comment, sorry it took me so long! Im here intermittently and dont always check everything. Thats a smart idea! I have taken a break from dreamwork (IRL job was super tiring, and i needed truly restful sleep). But Im starting a new, more laid back, job soon and will be able to start experimenting with this again. The job has lots of downtime so that means I'll be able to stop and jot things down if I need (or record them if I can). I've been focusing on some other things, in terms of craft, and I've got some ideas brewing.
