Healing work

I guess is the most important work a witch should learn to perform and also the hardest.

I will work soon on a man who had stroke and paralysis. His daughter asked for support and I will do my best. Anyone willing to join that work is welcome.

Have you worked recently in healing people? What is your favorite approach to start this kind of work? I usually start with altar offerings, prayers to connect with the spirits and then, under their guidance, I perform several rituals, fine-tuning them according to the person and the illness.

Several steps are common in my rituals: offerings together with a statement of the intention, purification and/or exorcisms, meditation, several invocations and a final blessing.

Hi Mikham, I have practiced Healing for many years and I personally think that Healers are guided to do what is right. Whenever I Heal I ask the Spirits for help and allow them to work in whichever way they want. I very seldom ever touch a person, my hands are always a good 3-4 inches away from them. I always start with a scan of an area because sometimes I work well away from the pain or to be healed area. I always tell them before I start that if they feel any sensations at all they are to tell me because this can be a guide for a Healer. However, I never "auto suggest" anything i.e. I never say "can you feel tingling in your legs" because as sure as heck they will feel that because you've told them. At present I am working with a young Lady who has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I have a mission to inform people that hugging is a wonderful natural healer but not just grabbing someone, I have different hugs for different reasons. For this young Lady I went into a healing hug with her which meant that she was holding onto me and whilst she was in my arms my hands were on her shoulder blades. We stood like that for 2-3 minutes until I could co-ordinate our breathing so that very soon we became one person. I then did what I could to work on the tumour. she did feel great when we finished and felt a lot more positive about her future. I also spell cast into a special stone she had. She now cups it in her hand and breathes in a pure light from the stone, turns her head, and blows out black smoke. Her body has to do the work. One thing that might sound strange to some is whilst in the hug I wore my cloak which has a large Pentacle on the back with mine and my Wife's initial in. I informed my coven that I would be doing this at a specific time and asked them at this time to concentrate on my pentacle to give me the energy I needed. This definitely works for me but won't work for everyone. My greatest achievement was a lady who was desperate for a baby but couldn't have one for various reasons. She came to me and 1 year later (not 9 months) she gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Did I do anything? probably not but she was able to allow her body to do what it should do. I hope this doesn't seem too weird to you but this is genuinely how it works for me.

Hi Steve,

I appreciate your comment, it is really interesting to know how you work on healing.

My work may look quite different but we go through the same steps. I first set up a connection with the person by praying together even if privately, in front of an altar offering. I ask the person to be open to God, angels and spirits to transform his or her life. After that we spit the work. I give to every person a different assignment or task to fulfill in order to have them focused on welcoming spiritual forces to work on their life. I work with God and His spirits, with prayers, offerings, meditation.

I always explain people who come to me that as the physician will heals the body, we also have to prepare the the soul to be healed and when the two are in harmony, they both speed up the whole process. Moreover, I do not tell them how the process will work, because it can be different for different people and I do not want them to expect any special effect to come out my magic wand.

If you and your coven is fine with that, you can send me a version of your pentacle and I will put it on my altar, to send you even more positive energy.

Please excuse my ignorance but with the utmost respect why are you writing about God & Angels & why do you use them? Surely this is a Christian belief and nothing to do with Traditional Witchcraft? I'm very new here & please don't take offence by what I've said.

No offense.

You are almost right. God, angels and spirits I work with are mainly identified as the Christian ones. I have to say that I received the first rudiments of the traditional Italian craft from my grandmother who was used to receive people complaining mostly from lesser curses affecting their health. She delivered them with a special blessing administered during a ritual whose prayers are given in the family through generations.

Italian witchcraft, as practiced in my region, is a system that has roots in Etruscan religion. Once Christianity arrived, the systems was adapted to the new religion and this was perfectly normal until "the religion" became all of rules and dogmas as we know it nowadays.

I, together with my grandma and few other members of my family, have been raised as Christian and, simultaneously, I have been taught how to serve the home altar, a restful place for spirits and ancestors, a place where to call them and be guided in order to perform spiritual work.

I could never fit in a wiccan forum and I guess that "traditional witchcraft" could have as many meanings as the number of profiles here. I can imagine that this forum doesn't deal with this system I received but surely no one can say that it is not "traditional" since it has been practiced for ages and it is still practices, although mostly by few, old ladies.

We are all happy to know that since one week the man is happily driving his car and messing around like he always did.

Hey guys! I'm not a healer myself, but my mother is. She also uses God and angels. I have let go of Christianity, but it works for her. She depends on energy work, mostly in her arms and hands. Her hands usually tingle and itch a few days before someone asks to be healed. It's like they warn her someone is coming. Last year, I developed chronic pancreatitis. So, I got to experience her healing first hand. In the process, I had to have my gallbladder removed. After surgery, I developed pneumonia. Guys, it was so painful. I can't even describe the pain to you. My mother came and stayed a week. She would come in the room and put her hands on my chest or her arms around me with her hands flat against my back. Her hands were extremely hot, not uncomfortable but very noticeable. I know now that it is the energy that she builds up. Two weeks later, I was back at work. I do still have pain sometimes from my pancreas, but my doctors have told me it's not near as severe as it should be. It amazes me how we all have different ways, but we end up in the same place.

Ok, about this part. I'll share one of the first things I learned, and maybe it can be some help, as well. I'm in the U.S. too, so I know it's a newer country. I was in a bookstore when I was 14. I think it was Barnes and Noble (not important but here you go). Anyway, I was just walking around when this woman approached me. She was older and had long white hair (it was so long, it reached to her ankles). She had on glasses and had a very kind smile. "Do you know what you are?" she asked. I was scared, so I didn't answer. Those classes where we were taught to yell "stranger danger" flashed through my head (lol). She told me not to be afraid and to follow her. For some strange reason, I did. She led me to the New Age section and picked out a book. It wasn't all flashy like the other books and the writer was anonymous. If I'm not mistaken, I think it was the only one. She said I was a witch and that this book would help me. I looked down at the book and flipped through it. By the time I looked up, she was gone. Y'all I mean poof, gone. There is no way she could've gotten away that fast. So, I bought the book. The employees didn't even recognize it. The point is, one of the first things in that book was the topic of religion. It said that a witch could be any religion. Back then, I was Catholic, so this blew my mind. How could someone be Christian and a witch at the same time? But it is possible, and it has been possible for a long time. My grandmother, for example, was Native American. She, like many others, was forced to be Catholic. So what did they do? They mixed the beliefs. Catholicism was mixed with Native American Shamanism. Sorry if I rambled a bit, but hope it gives some answers.

Thank you for your comments @negcreativity. I really think that witchcraft is totally belonging to humans. Mankind of all ages had it and used it and we still use it to honor our God/Gods according a moral given by our religions. but still it belongs to human sphere. Spirits realm is always in communion with the reality we use to see everyday. I also have a story of healing I will share in another post. maybe some users will like to read it.
