An odd dream...

It is difficult to remember all of it... I wish I would have laid there a moment to recollect everything.

 

I remember a table in an old in. The only ones sitting at this table were two young girls (maybe 20?). One was dressed in an old purple dress (seemed medieval) and the other was wearing armor. The one wearing armor had bright red hair, and as she leaned in to kiss the other something had happened. Everything was transported to this dark room and the red head was alone. There were heavy stone walls and stone stairs going down. Whenever the girl tried to go downstairs or escape, a figure of an old bald man with creepy yellow eyes and a black robe would stand in front of her and she would turn away in fear.

 

I watched her being chased around like a rabbit and then I saw a silver cord connecting the figure of the old man. I followed it (with my consciousness I guess) down and down the stairs which turned out to be a huge tower. At the bottom was the old man in a trance.

 

After that it is difficult to remember. I remember some kind of altercation between me and the old man, but that's all.

It seems like a dream about something that you or someone close to you have been avoiding. The armour suggests awareness of some kind of danger/risk and an attempt at guarding oneself from it , but it is ineffective as it is. The cord connecting the armoured girl and the old man (the cord and the oldness of the man specifically) make me think it comes from the deep buried past. Deep past because he is old and dormant (trances until she tries to escape) and is literally deep in the ground, and buried because she only turns away, not addressing or facing it. But he pops up when she tries to leave this big dark castle. You mention your consciousness having some fight with him, maybe you are entering a new phase and are ready to face something you havent been ready to until now? Maybe its about realizing the source of an obstacle you didnt know you had. Maybe the cord suggests the way to protect or guard yourself is more internal than external, and you need to sever the cord and pull the root.

 

I dont know, thats my guess without context into you or your life, but its how I would view that dream if I had it myself. Dreams are interesting to be sure. I've been getting back into the habit of journaling them, school has zapped my motivation for extracurricular writing, haha.

Also, you said there was a try at a kiss before it went dark and she was confronted with being trapped in isolation. It is maybe too obvious to ask, but do you have trouble getting intimate emotionally/close to people?

not terribley. I've been married for about 6 years now with someone i've been close with for 11 years. The one thing that struck a cord with me in your first description there was a new path that had always been blocked... what comes to mind is my immense fear of the dark that i've had since i was a child (because things are all too real in the dark), and i've been fighting with that fear of these beings for awhile. It is silly, i work with spirits, and my Familiar can be quite real, but if they had ever actually *shown* themselves to me (like my familiar had with my sister before) I would flip out and our relationship would be ruined. I want to go further into working with spirits, but that fear keeps me back.

 

Not to mention it is nearly impossible for me to be in a dark room by myself. I recognize that as something I definitely have to get over. Perhaps that's it. *shrugs*

Well that makes good sense as well. Definietly pay attention to any more dreams, maybe there will be more "clues" about how to go about overcoming that or what the reason is that it never went away from childhood, if any besides the work you do and knowledge you have. Dreams are so weird. Good luck, I hope it leads you somewhere!

i just had a dream that Twin Peaks ended with them all being aliens ;//////
